The Initiative

The Wisconsin Governor's Council on Domestic Abuse, Domestic Violence Fatality Review Initiative provides training, technical assistance, and resources for communities interested in establishing domestic violence fatality review teams under 2025 Wisconsin Act 148.

Starting a Team

We can walk you through the process of forming a fatality review team, from understanding the law to developing your first protocols.

Confidentiality Guidance

We can help you develop a confidentiality agreement consistent with Act 148 and answer questions about record access and disclosure.

Training and Presentations

We can provide training for your community, present to agency leadership, or connect you with national experts.

The DV Fatality Review Initiative is funded by the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources, Office of Violence Prevention (ovp@wisconsin.gov), through a grant to Rainbow House Domestic Abuse Services, Inc.

National Technical Assistance

The National Domestic Violence Fatality Review Initiative (NDVFRI) provides free technical assistance to fatality review teams across the country, including teams in the planning stages.
